SURVEYOR/DRAFTER - (BR-SD-2019(1))

Keystone Engineering Inc is seeking an experienced Surveyor/Drafter to join our Baton Rouge team.

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Responsible for having a working knowledge of basic AutoCAD.

  • Learns Keystone Drafting Standards and any applicable Client Drafting Standards.

  • Improves CAD and math skills.

  • Develops an understanding of drawings for all disciplines.

  • Develops an understanding of project responsibilities with respect to specific task deliverables.

  • Responsible for making revisions to existing drawings, for all disciplines, per markups furnished by engineering or designers.

  • Prepares drawing plots and copies relative to project requirements and/or deliverables as directed by designers.

  • Capable of making site visits to help designers and engineers gather field information.

  • Responsible for the constructability, operability, and maintainability of the design within his/her discipline for assigned project.

  • Responsible for the development of design configurations associated with the various systems that apply to his/her discipline for assigned project.

  • Provides comprehensive, efficient, and cost effective technical input into design related to his/her discipline for assigned project.

  • Responsible for the preparation of detailed design drawings within his/her discipline, in accordance with engineering design, required as project deliverables.

  • Provides daily guidance to drafters within his/her discipline for assigned project.

  • Notifies Lead Designer for respective discipline of any changes which occur during the project within his/her discipline.

  • Communicates with Lead Designer for respective discipline to promote smooth, accurate, and scheduled completion of deliverables.

  • Maintains a Job Data Book which contains all the pertinent information used during the design for his/her discipline for assigned project.

  • Reviews drawings within his/her discipline for assigned project on a regular basis for completeness, overall quality, and adherence to standards.

  • Ensures all drawings within his/her discipline for assigned project have been properly checked.

  • Prepares and/or directs the preparation of final drawing plots and copies for transmittal relative to all project deliverables. 

  • Assists with Project Audits when required.

Required:

  • 2 - 5 years experience in AutoCAD and Surveying

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Able to survey using Total Station

Preferred:

  • Run M-3 Trimble Total Station

  • Run SX-10 Trimble Scanner
